Enrollment Criteria

For Reinstatement Students (F-1 Reinstatement Applicants): If you are currently in the United States on an F-1 visa but have fallen out of status (due to a violation such as unauthorized drop below a full course load or failure to transfer schools in time) and wish to regain legal F-1 status through a reinstatement application to USCIS, you must follow the steps below:

  • Prior to enrollment, students should ensure they have reviewed the school's catalog and refund policy.
  • Completed application form along with all required supporting documents:
    • Copy of a valid passport (valid for at least six months into the future)
    • Copy of your most recent F-1 visa, I-94 record, and the most recent I-20 from your current or previous school (must show SEVIS ID)
    • Copy of high school diploma or higher, or equivalent educational credential
    • Current and past transcripts if available
    • Bank statements must be issued within the last 60 days. Statements must show a minimum of $15,000 USD (plus $3,500 for each dependent) to support issuance of a one-year Form I-20
  • Fill out and sign the enrollment agreement form and pay applicable registration and tuition fees according to the school's payment policy.
(A non-refundable application fee of $100 is required.)
  • Receive transfer form and Acceptance Letter from DreamIT ESL.
  • Bring the completed Transfer Form and Acceptance Letter to your current/previous school:
    • You must submit the DreamIT ESL Transfer Form and Acceptance Letter to the Designated School Official (DSO) at your current or previous school.
    • Your current/previous school's DSO must authorize and set the SEVIS release date to DreamIT ESL.
  • SEVIS Transfer and I-20 Issuance:
    • Once your SEVIS record is released, you will be issued a Form I-20 for "Reinstatement" (not for travel). This I-20 is used to file your I-539 reinstatement application with USCIS.
